Our oysters are sourced from a small family business called The Caledonian Oyster Co Ltd. Judith and Hugo have been farming delicious oysters for more than twenty years. The pacific oysters grow in the crystal-clear waters of Loch Creran, just North of Oban.
Orders for Oysters are taken out of the water on the day of delivery to the central belt. They are sold live and will stay fresh up to a week out of the water. They retain their quality during this time however we do recommend eating them within the first four days as they may start to lose their juices if left longer. We don’t advise opening the oysters until you are ready to eat them.
These Oysters have been a massive hit with our customers with some saying they are the best oysters they have ever eaten!
We do not recommend freezing oysters. If a customer does freeze oysters, then they must be cooked when thawed out and not consumed raw.
