Scallop Cutting Staff
(Immediate start)
West Coast Sea Products Ltd are recruiting for Scallop Processing Operatives (Cutters) to join its experienced & dedicated cutting team, working on a piece rate basis.
No previous experience is necessary; however, the applicant would benefit from being a quick learner and good at working in a hands-on environment. We are looking for candidates who have the desire to learn and develop new and existing skills, and have a flexible attitude towards work.
Wages:
The rate of pay for the first 4 weeks is £11.50 per hour to allow for candidate training on scallop cutting. Thereafter you will work on a piece rate basis, meaning you will be paid for the kg weight of scallops cut. Scallop cutters currently working on a piece rate basis on average are earning between £12-£15 per hour (the top tier cutters today are earning approx. £90 for 5.5hrs work).

You will ensure the highest standards of Health & Safety, Quality & Hygiene are adhered to. Identify and report any unsafe operations or acts and where possible, provide feedback or suggestions in relations to Health & Safety, Quality & Hygiene or otherwise for the purpose of continuous improvement.

Self-employed Share Fishers
Our fleet of Scallop boats fish around the UK and we require self-employed deckhand share fishers. Our boats are currently working out of Kirkcudbright, The English Channel and The North Sea.
Working under the watch of The Skipper, we are looking for fishers who are team players, and who have a desire to learn and develop new and existing skills, with the potential to train as Officer of the Watch with progression to training towards your Skipper Ticket. Fishers must have a flexible attitude towards work.
Full training will be provided, experience is preferred although not essential.
